Scotch Stitch

I fancied doing another small stitch last week so I pulled out the second Victoria Sampler kit. While I didn’t like the design of this one quite as much as the first one, I did like the new stitch that it taught – Scotch Stitch.

The thread that it used was a bit of a ‘mare as it would tangle and knot but I got there and I’m quite pleased with the effect that you get from changing the direction of the stitch.

Once again the kit used Kreinik #4 braid and lots of it this time. The Scotch Stitch was in DMC #12 Perle cotton. This is the finished piece. It’s just slightly too gold for my taste but then it is a Christmassy one.

The next two, which I’ve got ready in my stash, have much more colour in them and are lovely. I may have to do them soon.
