I saw a beautiful scarf on one of the blogs that I follow – Love, Lucie, and thought I’d like to make one. I followed the link on the blog to the Ravelry page and bought the pattern. I really wanted to make it in a cotton or bamboo, but couldn’t find any online that I thought suitable. I did have the perfect sock yarn already in my stash but it just wasn’t cotton or bamboo. It’s quite soft for a wool blend though so I went with that.
It was quite an easy one to make with just one repeating row so it was perfect for working on in front of the TV.Β This is how it turned out.
The yarn I used is a self-striping sock yarn and it was a joy to crochet with. It didn’t grow very fast but I loved seeing the colours changing and finding out which colour was coming up next.
The colour changes were fairly random so the effect is quite pretty.
I kept going until I ran out of yarn so it’s fairly long.
Long enough to fold too.
And one more photo, just because I can.
I’m really pleased with how it turned out and I’m very happy that I’ve got two more balls of that yarn in different colours. Wonder what I can make with those…
I entered this into the May Made it challenge that is hosted on Woolhogs. I’m chuffed to bits to have won the Voter’s Choice Award for it. It’s completely made my day π

It’s not a difficult pattern by any means, but I’d get a bit of experience before tackling it, just to get used to the motion of doing the crochet stitches and getting the tension even.
It’s only double trebles and chains if I remember correctly and doesn’t have any complicated stitches. It was a nice relaxing hook π
