SAL – African Sampler #04

This is the scheduled three-weekly post for the SAL that I’m doing with several other crafty blogs.

We have elephants!

African Sampler - 08

The two little rows of pattern plus the elephants are what I’ve managed to stitch since the last update. There will be some beads added to the top row of pattern once the rest is finished. The bottom row of pattern has backstitch along the bottom edge of it. That should  have been in a metallic but it was a really vile  one to work with so I gave up and used ordinary DMC instead. I think it looks  fine.

By the fifth elephant, I hardly needed to look at the chart. It was a bit repetitive doing one after the other, and all identical, but I do love them now that they’re finished.

I had a bit of an issue trying to photograph it for upload, as I had a little helper.

African Sampler - 09I think he was making sure it was straight. (or not)

I did get a photo without him in it eventually so this is what the project looks like now.

African Sampler - 07I’m going to carry on working downwards so the next bit to be done is another thin row of pattern and then a couple of wider stripes of zebra print.

For the stitch-a-long I’m linking up to these lovely blogs:
