This is the scheduled three-weekly post for the SAL that I’m doing with several other crafty blogs. As I’m struggling to find time to do any cross stitch, plus keep up with all the crochet that I’m doing, I’m going to use these posts for the Last Dance on the beach blankets. That’ll make sure that I finish them, and then I can get back to some stitching.
I took the yarn that I needed for the last twelve squares on holiday with me, hoping that I’d manage to get quite a bit done in the evenings while we were relaxing. It didn’t happen. I finished just one square so have three of the bobble squares for the Stars blanket done.
Just one more of those to do and then eight of the week twelve squares. Hopefully I can find the time to do at least a couple more squares before the next update in three weeks.
For the stitch-a-long I’m linking up to these lovely blogs:
Avis at Sewing beside the sea
Claire at Claire93
Kate at Tall tales from Chiconia
Gun at Rutigt
Lucy at Lucyannluna
Sue at The Magpie’s nest

DebbieRose at Sew Rosey
Christina at Petals and Pins
Susan at SusanPblog
Kathy at Sewing etc
Margaret at The Crafty Creek
Helen at Stitchery Nook
Cindy at Home of a floss junkie
Steph at My making do adventure
Not everyone does an update each time, but their blogs are always worth a visit.

I am packing crochet and cross-stitch for the holiday too – but I won’t be surprised if I don’t do anything at all 🙂

We start with the intention of doing some but there are so many other fun things to do, eh? 🙂

More lovely blocks! These blocks in red look so rich and elegant. I just love all the little bobbles! So beautiful! So much to do and so little time. We do what we can and have to be satisfied with that. Sounds like you are doing great at juggling it all.

Thanks. I initially preferred the Rain blanket with it’s cool blues, but I love all the bright colours in the Star blanket now. Especially now that I’m getting to use the red yarn.

I really need to get back to my crocheting but right now my cross stitch has me in its clutches and I can’t put it down. LOL.
Merry Christmas

I’m the opposite. I’ve loads of stitching to do, but can’t seem to stop crocheting (and reading) 🙂
Merry Christmas to you too!

The colour of your squares is so rich and warm. The bobble stitch looks lovely and textured 😉

Thanks. I love doing different stitches in crochet, just the same as in stitching.

Carole, you have had a very busy few weeks here, and those time release projects can sure keep you on your toes! These blocks are lovely, and will make for a beautiful finished project. More stitching in January I’m sure!

I can’t see me finishing all my current crochet projects by January so the stitching may have to wait a while longer. I’m looking forward to joining all these squares up soon.

crochet is possibly easier to pick up and put down at this time of year

I think it is, especially as I can crochet without any aids, but need to set up the maglight to stitch. Crochet is much easier on the eyes 🙂

It’ll be good to have you back in January with some of your beautiful stitching 🙂

Maybe not January. I’ve still got to join the two lots of squares together and then do a border round both blankets. Plus Carousel needs a border too. There will be stitching soon though 🙂

Unfortunately, there are only so many hours in a day! Glad you had fun on your holiday though!

I know. And sadly work gets in the way of quality crafting time LOL
