Temperature blanket #1

My blanket is coming on nicely. I’ve managed to keep up with doing a hexie each day without any problems. I’m getting faster at doing them too. I am getting to the point where I’d quite like to use some other colours though. I was chuffed to bits on the one day in January when the temperature reached the range that I’ve allocated to Violet, but sadly that was the only one so the lone Violet hexie looks a bit lonely.

01hexiesjanIt’s about 20″ across now so is growing nicely. It looks a bit lop-sided but that’s because I’m part way through the fourth round.

Fingers crossed that we get a bit more variation in the temperatures in February. That Violet hexie would really love some company šŸ™‚

  2. Love your hexagons! I just recently found out about a temperature blanket and just ordered my yarn yesterday. I am not sure I could have stitched hexagons, but it would have been fun to try. I will just be doing rows of crochet on mine. I have tracked all the high temps for the last 39 days so I can be ready to go when the yarn arrives. I do hope that you get to add some more colors – in the higher temp range, of course šŸ˜‰ We have had quite the unusual weather patterns this year, so I am hoping my blanket will be quite colorful for the winter. Looking forward to seeing more of your temperature blanket.

    • We had a couple of ‘Violet’ days last week after I’d taken the photo but we’re back to Indigo and Storm now. If the weather forecast for this month is to be believed, I may get to use the Graphite for -0

  6. I love the blues, would be dreading the arrival of more than the odd dusting of pinks and purples! Great work, will be lovely watching through yellows, reds and oranges, I like those colours too!

    • No yellows or oranges and we’ll be lucky to see any red in it as it’ll need to get over 30Ā°. I’m shading from blues, through purples to pinks and maybe a red.
I think it’ll look pretty with lots of purple & pink šŸ™‚
