SAL – Fellowship of the hooties #02

This is the scheduled three-weekly post for the SAL that Iā€™m doing with several other crafty blogs and I’ve been carrying on with Fellowship of the hooties. I was hoping to get another three owls done for today but have only managed two. Still, that’s two owls closer to a finish so I’m happy enough with that.

This is where it was last time. Next to be stitched was Pippin. In the centre of the design is, of course, Aragorn. He’s looking very regal. Next up is Merry, to finish the middle row, and I’m just about make a start on him.

If the migraines behave, I might get a finish for next time, but that’s pretty unlikely. We have three updates left this year so I’ll almost certainly get this finished before the new year. I need to start making a plan for next year to keep the ball rolling. Hmm, wonder if I should have a Disney year. I do have lots of kits to play with. What d’you think? Disney or several random projects? I feel the need to go and have a rummage šŸ˜‰

For the stitch-a-long Iā€™m linking up to these lovely blogs:
Avis, Claire, Gun, Sue, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Helen, Linda, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Megan, Deborah, Clare, Mary Margaret, Renee, Jenny, Carmela, Jocelyn, Sharon, Daisy, Anne

Do allow for people being in different time zones, so not posting all at the same time, but it’s well worth doing a bit of blog hopping to see all the lovely projects that are being worked on.

  1. Sorry to hear about your migraines, I hope you can keep them at bay. These owls are so cute — really fun to see them. I’ve been pondering what to stitch next. I *should* work on the big William Morris needlepoint that I already have on the frame… but for some reason I keep working on smaller things instead!

  2. These owls always put a smile on my face. They are the cutest!
Anything Disney is always a winner. But migraines are no fun. So sorry you battle them. My younger daughter suffered from them when in late teens/early twenties. She learned to note the signs and take a tylenol and one quarter of a gravol before they got a chance to get going. That worked for her.

  4. The hooties are looking very cute and the benefit is, as it’s a simple design you get loads done in a single update. As for choosing something for next year I guess it depends what you intend to do with said finished designs and their sizes. I find the SAL is quite good for longer projects as they’re the ones it’s harder to find motivation for, smaller projects can be squeezed in on the side if you’re motivated !

  5. I hope you can get a fair amount of stitching in between migraines. I know how incapacitating they can be. It will be fun to start the new year with a new project, whatever you choose. šŸ™‚

  9. Carole, we have a houseful of Lord of the Rings fans, so I really love this project! You’ve made fantastic progress. I do hope your migraines let up! As for next year, I love Disney. šŸ™‚ That being said, you choose the cutest charts, so random pieces could be fun, too. (I’m no help at all – lol!)

  11. That’s good progress, even without the migraines. I like whatever you decide to stitch so I don;t mind what you choose. How about giving all the kits a number and pull one out of the hat each time for your next project? In other words, random LOL.

  13. We seriously only have 3 more updates until the end of the year? Yikes! I am sorry about your migranes. I can’t even imagine trying to work on stitching when feeling like that. You got a lot done even with not feeling well. They are fabulous! I am not a huge Disney fan like some so I would vote for random projects.

  14. Those owls are so cute, sorry to hear that migraines are slowing your progress. As for next year, what about alternating a Disney with a random?
