This is the scheduled three-weekly post for the SAL that I’m doing with several other crafty blogs and I’ve finished page five of Precious Dreams.
This is where it was up to last time.
I’ve done three more columns which is 1890 stitches. Kitty now has the start of her face.
I’m hoping to get half of page six done for the next update but it’s getting very confetti-heavy in this section. It looks like there’s a lot of white, but there are three shades of almost identical white in there as well as several shades of very pale grey that are very close to white. I have to really concentrate on which shade I have in my needle as if I forget, I struggle to identify it.
For the stitch-a-long I’m linking up to these lovely blogs.
Avis, Claire, Gun, Sue, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Megan, Deborah, Mary Margaret, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, Connie, AJ, Jenny, Laura, Cathie, Linda, Helen
Do allow for people being in different time zones, so not posting all at the same time, but it’s well worth doing a bit of blog hopping to see all the lovely projects that are being worked on.

It is so fun to see the kitten’s sweet face filling in. Beautiful work!

Confetti stitching is the hardest, but often the most rewarding Carole, as this sort of thing has so much detail, compared with the simpler thing to stitch. Keep up the good work you always make so much progress xxx

Fab progress Carole, you are so neat in keeping your threads organised, such a sweet wee face emerging! xx

Thank you, but I think the word you’re looking for is obsessive LOL
That face has been the reason I’ve got so much done. I just needed to see her little nose.

You have excellent progress! I imagine the difficulties in identifying the various shades of white! Good stitching!

So cute!! You make such great progress on this! Makes me want to work on my Hummingbirds full coverage piece again, but it has sooooo many colors and blends, that’s what must take me so long to make progress.

Thanks. Any confetti takes ages but you’re brave to tackle something with blends. I quite dislike using them as it means that I can’t do a loop start 😉

That’s very true! That makes me curious of I should just knot the ends of the blend since the back is so dense due to the confetti stitching.

I’d worry that it’d work its way through. It’s hard to run the ends under with such a dense back though. I wonder if you could knot it on the right side a short way from where it starts so it gets stitched over on the back. Then cut the knot off once it’s secure. (that’s what I do with finished ends, apart from the knotting)

That’s true! Or knot and loop method! Lol lol give all these methods a try next time I work on it and let you know how it goes!

I’m laughing out loud at you talking to yourself. My OH knows I’m nuts because I say it all out loud rather than keep it in my head. He doesn’t dare to interrupt me when I’m doing it LOL. You’ve made fantastic progress again. This one definitely needs good light.

Thanks. Yes, I don’t know how I’d manage without my maglight.
Your husband is obviously very sensible to not interrupt 🙂

Great progress. The confetti stitching makes the picture look so wonderful, but it really is a pain to stitch.

It’s not that bad, honest. I’m only working with 13 colours. I’ve seen people using the parking method on those huge HAED designs with 80 or more colours, some of which are blends. That’s what boggles my mind LOL
I have weird conversations in my head while I’m stitching. I’ve given all the symbols names, so I’m thinking things like, “next stitch is two below balls and next to box, and after that move to the left of dotty”. If I was talking out loud, hubby would think I was nuts 😉
Please tell me I’m not the only one that does that…

I also give symbols names so you’re not alone there but I still think you must be slightly nutty to be tackling this project ^^
