This is the scheduled three-weekly post for the SAL that I’m doing with several other crafty blogs and once again my hand is playing up, so no update from me. This time my thumb is quite painful and the finger that started all the trouble is really bad. I’m struggling to even use a touchscreen or touchpad. Hopefully it’ll be better for next time.
Pic to show where it was up to last time.
For the stitch-a-long I’m linking up to these lovely blogs.
Avis, Claire, Gun, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, Cindy, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Megan, Deborah, Mary Margaret, Renee, Carmela, Sharon, Daisy, Anne, AJ, Jenny, Laura, Cathie, Linda, Helen
Do allow for people being in different time zones, so not posting all at the same time, but it’s well worth doing a bit of blog hopping to see all the lovely projects that are being worked on.

I do hope that you feel better soon and can get back to your stitching.

Has your GP prescribed anything for you. There are some very helpful creams they can give you now. Unfortunately arthritis isn’t something you can just get over. But there is a lot of things that can help you to manage it Carole. xx

It’s pretty much impossible to get an appointment, so I haven’t seen the GP for over a year. They’re not very helpful anyway.

I feel your pain as my thumb was acting up today also. Let it rest. Try Capsaicin. It burns for a while, but seems to speed healing. A warm water soak tends to help also.

Thanks Cathie. I had Capsaicin. It didn’t do anything. No burning, no pain relief.
Hope your thumb is better 🙂

I hope you can get some relief from the pain soon. Have you been catching up on lots of reading? Thanks for linking to the rest of the group.

Thank you 🙂
Some reading but even that’s a problem, whether holding a paperback or tapping the screen on the Kindle. I’ve been mostly doing scrapbooking as although I need my hands for that, it’s not a repetitive movement.
Hoping to get back to stitching soon though. It’s driving me nuts that the cats are so close to a finish.

Hang in there Carole, do you have a brace to wear to force it to rest, or do they want you to keep it moving? So frustrating, but try and be good!

I have compression gloves, which I’ve been using a lot. I could do with the fingers being a bit longer on them though.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you can put your hand to rest and find ways to relieve the pain. This is a nice project and it’d be a shame if your hand won’t allow it.

I take a lot of meds for migraines so tend not to use painkillers for anything else unless I’m desperate. I’m not quite at that stage yet 🙂
