Still clearing my desk

I’m still working my way through Shimelle’s Clear the desk class. I was struggling with the set of papers that I’d put together so grabbed an old Basic Grey collection pack, or rather the little bit of it that was left, and tried to use it all up. I didn’t do too badly. The hardest part was finding some photos to go with it so I ended up with some Disney pics from 2010, after getting distracted for a few hours organising my photo boxes 🙄

The pack that I used was Lucky with all the lovely purples and reds. I only had a few sheets of paper left and no embellishments, tags or alphas. I did have quite a few Halloween embellishments though so I used up some of those.

I’ve also got a few photos of the cats in their Hop-in so I used one of those to use up the very last bits.
And that was the end of BG Lucky. I can’t believe that I’ve finally finished off one of the BG collections. One down, thirty-three to go LOL

Clear the desk #2

I had a short break from scrapping as I was really enjoying crocheting Arizona but I did do some layouts for the second prompt for Clear your desk, the online class by Shimelle.

I struggled a bit more to find a batch of papers to use for this one as the bold floral that I wanted to use was tricky to match up with anything else that I had. With that in mind, I’m quite happy with how the layouts turned out.

I picked photos from our 2008 trip to Disney World as I still have loads to use from there and as we went for the Flower festival, the photos seemed a good match for the papers. Love that doily by Basic Grey. I’ve wanted to use that on something for years!

The first one is a Photopass magic shot. That patterned paper is old Junkitz. This one is one of my favourite photos from that year. We were walking along and the little cart came up behind us. As I swung my camera up to take a quick snap, they stopped and posed for me. There were lots of lovely sculptures at the festival and I particularly liked this one. I finally got to use that really bold floral on this layout along with some old stitchy rub ons. Finally for this batch is my favourite with these papers. More of that pretty doily and I even got to use some really old chipboard letters.

I’ve been scrapping more Disney 2017 photos lately, using the Magical Scrapbook prompts by Shimelle. I must get back to clear the desk at some point but I’m on a mission to finish 2017 first.

Clear the desk

I’m still enjoying working my way through Shimelle’s class, A most magical scrapbook, and I’m getting my Disney photos from last year done really quickly. As I was on a roll, I signed up for another of Shimelle’s classes that launched in Feb. It’s a class to encourage you to use up older supplies. For some people that just means using up the lovely stash they bought last year, but I have stash dating back to 2005 and maybe earlier.

I kept buying patterned paper but struggled to actually use it. Shimelle’s style uses a lot of pretty paper so I’m getting through it nicely now but I have lots to use up yet.

I had a really good rummage and pulled these papers for the first prompt.

That’s A-Z, Kaisercraft, Chatterbox, MME, Fancy Pants, 3 bugs in a rug, and one by American Crafts that didn’t get into the photo. The ones with dates on were 2005/2006.

This is what I made with these papers plus a mix of old & new embellishments.

Six layouts! I did four on the first evening and another two when I got home from work the following day. I don’t think I’ve ever been so productive so I’m chuffed to bits.

I’ve been busy with other stuff the past week but I’m going to dive in with a second set of supplies for the next video asap.
