This is the scheduled three-weekly post for the SAL that I’m doing with several other crafty blogs and I’ve made progress with Cappuccino.
This is where I was up to last time. And this is where it is now.
It’s not finished yet but it’s almost done. All the border is completed plus the cup, and I’ve made a good start on the lower section. Hopefully there’ll be a happy dance next time.
For the stitch-a-long I’m linking up to these lovely blogs:
Avis, Claire, Gun, Sue, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret,
Cindy, Helen, Linda, Heidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Megan,
Deborah, Clare, Mary Margaret, Renee, Jenny, Carmela, Jocelyn, Sharon
Do allow for people being in different time zones, so not posting all at the same time, but it’s well worth doing a bit of blog hopping to see all the lovely projects that are being worked on.

Taking the time to mark the grid is so smart — especially with a fiddly fabric. I hope you’ll share how you combine it with your other two coffee pieces! Also, belated thanks for sharing your “finished” box last time — I have two small pieces I want to pick up after I finish stitching and making up Swans, but then I really should open up that box, take a deep breath, and do something with at least one piece!

I’ll definitely share the finished item. Hopefully sometime this year LOL
Good to know I’m not the only one with a ‘finished’ box 🙂

Yes, I’ve been on a bit of a roll. I think having a schedule mapped out on a spreadsheet is really helpful.

Such a sweet project, Carole. I love the colours, how the border worked up and also that background colour of the fabric. Yes, this one is almost done!

I missed the last SAL posting so this is a new project to me. Had to look twice at those red lines on your ground fabric. 😉 That must speed up the counting process a good bit!

They really do. I’ll be putting guidelines into more projects now I’ve seen what a difference it makes.

I missed your update last time! This is such a cute project! Looking forward to your happy dance next time around 😀 The border looks like my Noah’s Christmas Ark Ornaments by Plum Street Samplers, and it’s time consuming…and i have to stitch it for every ornament!

I didn’t mind doing the border. Once I’d got into a rhythm with it, I could listen to an audio book without having to worry about losing count.

Well done, Carole! This is such a cute design. I’m curious about this premarked fabric, do the guidelines just wash out with water?

Thanks 🙂
It’s not a premarked fabric. I’ve added the guide lines myself with stuff that’s a bit like fishing line. I suspect fishing line would have been cheaper but I saw this at one of the craft shows and it’s for cross stitch. It pulls out really easily afterwards. It took me maybe a couple of hours to put it in?

Ooh, that’s very interesting. Will you reuse it, or just pull and throw?

I’ll just throw it, and then feel guilty because it’s plastic. The problem is it’s cut to the right lengths for the project so would be unlikely to fit the next one, or the next…
