SAL – Precious dreams #10

This is the scheduled three-weekly post for the SAL that I’m doing with several other crafty blogs and Precious Dreams has come back out of the box.

This is where it was up to when it was put away, with the top four pages completed.
I’m quite happy with how much I’ve got done this time. Ok, there was a lot of background, which stitches up a lot faster, but I’ve done four columns which is 2520 stitches.

Look, there’s another ear! I’m quite excited to be coming up to Kitty’s face. I have three columns left of page five, and I’m hoping to get them done for the next update, although they are a mass of confetti.

If anyone hasn’t seen an in progress pic of this before, it’s not as chaotic as it looks. Honest 😉

For the stitch-a-long I’m linking up to these lovely blogs (and apologies for missing some of the links off last time. No idea how I managed that)

Avis, Claire, Gun, Sue, Constanze, Christina, Kathy, Margaret, CindyHeidi, Jackie, Sunny, Hayley, Megan, DeborahMary Margaret, ReneeCarmelaSharon, Daisy, Anne, Connie, AJ, Jenny, Laura, Cathie, Linda, Helen

Do allow for people being in different time zones, so not posting all at the same time, but it’s well worth doing a bit of blog hopping to see all the lovely projects that are being worked on.

  6. I am so impressed with your thread organization! And given the amount of detail visible in the fish, I can’t wait to see the cat.

  7. I park threads but never so many. I’m not organized enough! It really is fun to see the picture emerging column by column.

    • I don’t usually park as my normal projects aren’t full coverage. It took a bit of getting used to, and finding the best way for me, but it’s working great.

  12. Ah! I just realised there’s going to be a cat. I should’ve known! This is going to be fantastic. Do you leave the needles threaded or is it just the threads that you have bundled together?

  13. Great progress, can’t wait to see that sweet face! I love seeing how everyone works, you must be so organised to keep those threads out of the way, I would be in knots in no time! Jenny xx

    • I’m really looking forward to seeing the face appear. What I love about stitching confetti over one, is that it looks like a load of random stitches until you finish a section and see the design, just like magic.
I’m quite obsessive about keeping the parked threads tidy. As soon as I park one, it gets rolled up and added to the clipped bundle.

  15. this is going to be stunning, on black! I really admire how you manage to work with so many threads hanging!

    • The background is stitched in dark navy so not quite black, but it does show off the design nicely. The threads aren’t in the way really. Keeping them clipped together keeps them tidy 🙂

  16. I can’t wait to see kitty’s face. Yes, that definitely looks chaotic. I don’t think I could manage to work with all that floss hanging around. I really hate having to work on all that confetti, but it certainly makes the picture look fantastic.

    • It does look a mess but it’s really well organised, both on the project and the chart 🙂
It definitely takes some concentration to do the confetti but I do love the effect.
